Singer-songwriter IU marked the anniversary of her debut by giving back in the name of her fans.
On September 18, EDAM Entertainment announced that IU donated a total of 200 million KRW (approximately $145,000) under the name “IUENA,” a combination of IU and her fandom UAENA.

The donation was divided equally among four organizations: the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, Make-A-Wish Korea, the Heart to Heart Foundation, and the Korea Senior Citizens Support Foundation, each receiving 50 million KRW (about $36,000).
The contributions will support children with critical illnesses, people with disabilities, young adults preparing for independence, and elderly individuals living alone.
IU has consistently made donations on her debut anniversaries, birthdays, and other special occasions under the IUENA name. Earlier this year, she contributed 200 million KRW (about $145,000) to assist wildfire recovery efforts in the Gyeongsang region and to improve working conditions for firefighters. In May, she donated 150 million KRW (about $109,000) in celebration of Children’s Day, followed by another 200 million KRW (about $145,000) on her birthday to help vulnerable communities.
Meanwhile, IU recently surprised fans with the release of her new single “Bye, Summer” on September 10. She also concluded her fan meetup series “Bye, Summer” on September 13 and 14, and is currently filming her upcoming drama '21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife.'
