Red Velvet’s Irene shared behind the scenes stories of her first full length album and her recent interests, drawing attention with her unique habit of watching beekeeping videos before bed.
On March 30 KST, Irene appeared on SBS PowerFM’s 'Wendy’s Young Street', where she spoke about her first full album 'Biggest Fan', released about one year and four months after her previous mini album 'Like A Flower'. The broadcast also gained attention as it featured a reunion with her fellow Red Velvet member Wendy.
Irene officially began her activities as a solo artist with the release of 'Biggest Fan' on March 30. Discussing the process of selecting the title track, she said, “I started searching for songs with the A&R team around May last year, and the moment I heard this track, I knew it had to be the title.”
She added, “It’s the kind of song that makes your confidence grow when you look in the mirror and say the lyrics out loud,” expressing her affection for the track.
When asked about her hobbies, Irene shared, “These days, I enjoy watching travel videos before going to sleep.” She added with a smile, “I used to watch beekeeping videos a lot, but my preferences have changed recently.”
She also spoke about keeping up with trends, saying, “While preparing for the SMTOWN concert, I met many members and junior artists, so I learned about the latest trends and challenges.” However, she added humorously, “I heard about ‘Harullalla’ for the first time today, and I still haven’t tried ‘butter rice cake.’”
Meanwhile, 'Wendy’s Young Street' airs daily from 8 PM to 10 PM and is also available on its official YouTube channel.
