Netflix’s upcoming original film 'Love Untangled' has captured attention with the release of its main poster and trailer, teasing the intertwined crushes of its lead characters, Gong Myung and Shin Eun Soo.
On August 14, the production team of 'Love Untangled' (directed by Nam Goong Sun) unveiled the main poster and trailer. Featuring Gong Myung and Shin Eun Soo, the visuals highlight the freshness and charm of high school youth and raise anticipation for the film.
Set in 1998, 'Love Untangled' follows nineteen-year-old Se Ri (played by Shin Eun Soo), who is preparing for the most important confession of her life while planning to tame her lifelong insecurity, her stubborn curly hair. Her plans become complicated when she crosses paths with new transfer student Han Yoon Seok (played by Gong Myung). The main poster captures a sunlit classroom moment, with Se Ri blushing in excitement while Yoon Seok looks on, hinting at the subtle tension between them. Se Ri’s smile, inspired by thoughts of the school heartthrob Kim Hyun (Cha Woo Min), leaves viewers wondering if she will succeed in her long-awaited confession.
Meanwhile, Yoon Seok’s attentive gaze toward Se Ri hints at his growing, complicated feelings after becoming involved in her confession plan. The tagline, “Do I really have to straighten my hair to confess?” playfully foreshadows the tangled twists of Se Ri’s mission. 'Love Untangled,' starring Gong Myung and Shin Eun Soo, will premiere worldwide on Netflix on August 29.
The main trailer shows Yoon Seok transferring from Seoul to Busan, where he becomes entangled in Se Ri’s school life full of unexpected twists. Se Ri, smitten at first sight by the popular Kim Hyun, devises a grand confession plan with her friends. Yoon Seok, unintentionally roped into the scheme by his self-proclaimed “life-saver,” spends time folding origami with the group and builds friendships along the way.
Se Ri learns about a Seoul-based hair-straightening treatment from her curly-haired rival In Jung (Kang Mina) but is discouraged by the steep price. Yoon Seok, growing more aware of his feelings, asks, “Do I really have to straighten my hair to confess?” creating a subtle romantic tension. Determined to succeed, Se Ri expresses her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for being with me at the most important moment of my life,” as she puts the final touches on her plan.
Centered on Se Ri and Yoon Seok, the film showcases friendship, chemistry, and the innocent charm of youth, leaving viewers smiling and rooting for their success. Whether Se Ri will finally pull off her long-awaited confession remains a tantalizing question.
Netflix’s youth romance 'Love Untangled' premieres globally on August 29.
