On January 11, SM Entertainment announced via the label's official website, "Unfortunately, Mark will be leaving his MC position on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' after this week's broadcast."
The label continued, "We would like to sincerely thank fans for all the encouragements sent throughout Mark's MC position, and we want to gift the first 200 fans who receive their entry numbers into the recording of this week's broadcast with warm drinks which represent Mark's thankful heart, so we ask for your abundant support. Please continue to send your love and cheers toward Mark."
With NCT member Mark's upcoming departure as well as Wanna One member Ong Seong Wu's departure last year, the only remaining fixed MC of 'Show! Music Core' is Gugudan's Mina.
