All 4 members of Girl's Day reportedly going separate ways after contract expirations with Dream T Ent.

According to reports on January 11, all 4 members of Girl's Day will allegedly separate ways after the expiration of their contracts with Dream T Entertainment

Previously, Girl's Day label confirmed that leader Sojin has decided not to renew her contract come this February, but denied that the group would disband. Industry insiders say that Hyeri's contract is set to expire in early August, while Yura and Minah's contracts are set to expire in September. Neither Hyeri, Yura, nor Minah plan to renew with Dream T; all 4 members will be seeking new, acting management labels, if insider claims are true.

Girl's Day debuted back in 2010 with their 1st mini album 'Girl's Day Party #1', going on 9 years in 2019. While each of the 4 members may be seeking new opportunities with other management labels now, insiders say that the girls still share a very strong bond.

Do you think Girl's Day's group promotions will be possible with all 4 members under different managements?

  1. Girl's Day
  2. Minah
  3. Sojin
  4. Yura
  5. Hyeri

Sure but they're allowed their own lives also, A lot of fans tend to think it's all about themselves heh. Sojin is getting older also plus 9 years is a long time.

I hate when groups say “we aren’t disbanding” when their contracts end with their initial company. YES YOU ARE. The company owns the name and likeness so it’s impossible to be the same group after leaving the company, plus a lot of them want to be actresses, which idk why

No it is NOT 'impossible' to be in the same group. It just takes planning and effort, which lots of groups don't want to bother with.
Also, the group isn't the name. I'd think Highlight proved THAT. The group are the members. Yes, a group might keep going with one or two members leaving, but not when all of them do.
Even TVXQ - where SM kept going w/2 out of 5, is NOT THE SAME GROUP anymore, people. It's a duo. Great one - love Changmin & Yunho. But TVXQ started out as 5 and it's taken 8 years for enough noobie fans to get on board with the duo for people to start thinking of them as just the two.

T-ARA's old company was denied rights to their group name, so what's stopping that happening for Girl's Day?

As much as I'll be sad to see Girl's Day disband I'm happy that they're all leaving Dream T. I think the agency has done a pretty terrible job of managing Hyeri's acting career and I always felt that there was something really shady around the whole Hyeri and Tony Ahn dating thing too.

Girls Day was my favorite gg for a long time, is sad to read this news, but being an old kpop fan and seeing many groups disband, I was expecting it. Girls Day lost their momentum already with this big wave of new groups, but anyway it was fun seeing them struggling to find their own charm, but ultimately achieving the succes they deserved. Wish all the best for their future promotions <3

Honestly I feel bad for them because I think it might be a bit tough for them to make it in the industry after they disband. Their agency never truly promoted them enough both as a group and as individuals. I think it will be tough for them, but I wish them the best.

They renewed contracts in 2017 for 2 years just to have one comeback, and their last comeback before that was also almost with two year gap - I know that they had other stuff to do but Dream T is just pice of sh. Girls' Day is LEGENDARY group with ICONIC bops like ''Something'' and ''Expectation'' etc. ONLY Apink is now left to save kpop and I pray everyday for T-ara and KARA news, since KARA didn't really disband too...

This is sad to hear. "Expectation" was my jam when it came out. Every time a prominent K-Pop group disbands, the older I feel.

Um, instead of asking though, let's just acknowledge the fact that we REALLY don't know what's going to happen to Girl's Day when all four members of the group see their contracts expire at a certain date throughout the whole entire year. We just don't know. And with that being said, we will just have to wait and see what the ladies will do next in the coming months.

Wow this is sad. I was really hoping we'd have some 2nd gen groups left but omg. Everyone is breaking up. YG please hold onto Big Bang tightly we need them to stay together forever please.

I have faith only because I know how much the girls love Girls Day and even though they didn't have a comeback in 2017 they all renewed SOLELY for their love for Girls Day. So I do believe that they'd all find new labels but Girls Day wont disband and they'll promote. Even if it's not as active, even if it takes months and whatnot, I believe it'll work since the girls love Girls Day and each other so much.
