Probably not without a major retooling or format change to spark interest again. The re-formating that would probably be needed would likely be too racy or have too much potential for a real romance or scandal breaking out and the entertainment companies wouldn't want their stars on it. A decade is a long time for any show to run.

I am sure We Got Married's with Hee-Chul and Key and other same sex "couples" would rekindle the interest, but it is too radical for the conservative SK to handle. :)))) BTW, such show would be very funny since people would understand that this is not real very clearly, and yet to see how those idols would play the roles of lovers that are not characteristic to their gender/sexual orientation would be a pure comedy all while providing fan service for the fans. :)

I don't like much variety appearing it's rare for yg..are they loosing popularity or what..let them announce  a concert in korea.

I think it is a combination of things. I think part of it is some of his younger acts aren't as shy at the same age as some of his older acts were. If AKMU, Lee Hi, Winner, Ikon, and Black Pink enjoy doing variety shows and when they go on them they are engaging, then you don't have to shelter them from doing such shows for fear they will come off as really boring or simply disappear as they were too shy to get involved in the show. Also YG seemed to prefer creating an air of mystery around his artists by keeping them away from variety shows and away from social media earlier in their careers. Now part of that may have been shy idols who had to be kept away as they were ill-suited for the shows and maybe very sensitive to the online trolling and criticism that comes with being active on social media. I think he has come to learn that now an idol has to be social media savvy and needs to be able to go on TV and be seen. You can't ignore those marketing channels anymore and just surrender them to the other majors and the small companies. I think you are likely to see YG get more involved in variety and social media with young artists that seem to be more comfortable with it.

It's not really that rare. Back then, when BB and 2ne1 were younger, they were always on variety shows like Running Man and Strong heart. Variety shows are becoming a trend for idols to go on so why not yg artists as well? It's a way to promote and show a new side to the audience. i think it's great that theyre doing this. Everything else like dvds and concerts we need to pay for, so getting to see them do variety is great for broke fans haha

I remember some where in the past, it is said that YG artists are Musicians and they dun need to make themselves Funny or perform in a lot of music shows to be popular, they relay on their music compositions and live performances to sell their music. However i think variety shows start to evolve and many of them are doing the reality shows style where the guests shows how he or she really is off the camera or off the stage, and viewers love that, when a actresses give away her image and be herself for example, i think that is why you see more celebrities who previously wont even appear on variety shows, slowly start to come on variety shows, because they see what happen to others who came on the show. I remember Oh Yeon Soo said in an interview how she Persuaded her agency to let her be on WGM (with Lee Joon), she even analysed and show that past WGM actresses have seen their popularity boost by a lot after going on the show and that viewers are able to see their personality and character unlike their drama roles. and hence they get more love, and more drama offers, and CFs. I think WINNER and YG is also trying to do something like that like how Minho was initally worried his "Babo" image on Journey to the West Season 3 would affect his career and group, but it didnt, and probably he gained some fans who got to know him better on tv.

exactly I was worried about Mino's image cause after all he is the main rapper though winner is not known for their fierce performance but the one's get into too much tv shows gets slightly diverted from music..and winner still have not done any big concert or tour...and from tv shows artists gets very less profit than concerts..but it can help their popularity also.

SBS might become jealous of YG's new friendship with MBC.
