In an interview with Tenasia, Jessica talked about her solo release and touched upon her departure from Girls' Generation and SM Entertainment that had previously shaken the K-Pop world.

Understandably, she was a bit cautious about mentioning Girls' Generation and SM Entertainment at first.  She started off with, "I'm not sure what to say," but then opened up with her affections for her previous group, stating, "I wouldn't be here without Girls' Generation.  If there were no Girls' Generation, there would be no me.  Also, Girls' Generation would not be here without the company.  It's very precious.  I have no desire to deny who I was at the time."

Regarding the process of her departure, she said, "There was no choice but to make that decision.  Our interests were different.  We had to separate at some time; I just think that my time of departure came first."  In relation to some of the negative viewpoints, Jessica said, "If there's any misunderstanding, I will resolve that at any time.  The truth will go through in the end, and when time passes, I believe [people] would come to recognize [the truth]."

She was also asked about debuting as a solo artist at the same time as Tiffany.  She said, "I heard her music and saw her MV.  It was very cool.  I thought how it expressed greatly what Tiffany wanted to do.  I hope she does well.  As for competition?  Our colors are too different.  We came out at the same time unintentionally, but our music and our individuality are different.  I think there's a fun in seeing our different charms."

What she said was honestly exactly what I think. She had SNSD and now she's thinking about FASHION + SNSD obviously she wouldn't want to let go SNSD easily but at the same time she's been in a girl group for so long she want to explore new things, new challenges, new interests. She openly admitted that she was given a choice by SM to give up her fashion career for now to focus on SNSD or give up SNSD. In the end she said she picked her business because she already entered a contract. Well she obviously had contract for both SM as well. If they didn't come to agreement  I don't think she could have pulled herself out of SM that easily. so.... I think it worked out the best for all parties.

" Our interests were different.  We had to separate at some time"Good to see her finally saying that 'cause some of her fake fan keep saying the opposite. And right, she wouldn't be here without GG... Anyway. It's good she'd finally move on from her departure and is now debuting with her own music.
