Actor Ryu Jun Yeol has made an appearance at the 'Reply 1988 10th-anniversary MT' trip.
The first episode of tvN’s 'Reply 1988 10th Anniversary', airing on December 19th at 8:40 PM KST, is a variety program that follows the cast of 'Reply 1988' as they embark on a two-day, one-night trip to celebrate the drama’s 10th anniversary.
To mark the milestone, the Ssangmundong family gathered once again. Sung Dong Il, Lee Il Hwa, Ra Mi Ran, Kim Sung Kyun, Choi Moo Sung, Kim Sun Young, Ryu Jae Myung, Ryu Hye Young, Hyeri, Ryu Jun Yeol, Go Kyung Pyo, Park Bo Gum, Ahn Jae Hong, Lee Dong Hwi, Choi Sung Won, and Lee Min Ji—all the actors who led the “Reply 1988 syndrome”—were present.
Anticipation is already high as various content will revisit the legendary memories of the Ssangmundong alley, including the 10th-anniversary MT.
A representative image capturing the Reply 1988 10th-anniversary MT site was released on the 1st. The image, reminiscent of the original official poster from a decade ago, immediately stirred nostalgia.
However, concerns spread when Ryu Jun Yeol was missing from the poster, with some wondering whether he might be absent due to his past breakup with Hyeri.
Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri, who became a real-life couple through Reply 1988, ended their seven-year public relationship in 2023. When dating rumors between Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee surfaced in 2024, Hyeri drew attention by posting “Interesting” on social media.
This sparked curiosity among netizens about whether the two would reunite for the anniversary project. Ultimately, it was confirmed that Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol did not meet during the Reply 1988 10th-anniversary gathering.
However, in a video uploaded on December 1st KST to Channel fullmoon’s social media—captioned “We gave Deok Sun a film camera for her trip with the Ssangmundong family”—Ryu Jun Yeol was spotted sitting with Ra Mi Ran, Kim Sung Kyun, and Ahn Jae Hong. This confirmed that he attended the event as Jung Hwan for the first time in a decade.
tvN stated, “Although Ryu Jun Yeol could not join the entire MT schedule due to other commitments, he adjusted his schedule to participate in part of the filming since this content commemorates the 10th anniversary of Reply 1988.” Ryu Jun Yeol is currently filming the upcoming Netflix project 'The Mole'.
