Singer Park Bom reportedly filed a lawsuit against Yang Hyun Suk, the executive producer of YG Entertainment, in an unexpected move that has surprised both the public and her agency.
In a phone interview with this outlet on October 22, a representative from D-Nation Entertainment, Park Bom’s agency, stated, “Park Bom is beyond our control as well. We are currently looking into the details of her lawsuit against Yang Hyun Suk.”
Earlier that day, Park Bom shocked fans by revealing through her Instagram account that she had filed a complaint against Yang Hyun Suk. “To the people of Korea, please investigate what YG Entertainment did to Park Bom exactly as it is,” she wrote, attaching an image of her formal complaint.
According to the document, Park Bom accused Yang Hyun Suk of fraud and embezzlement, claiming that he failed to pay her due profits amounting to 64272e trillion hundred million KRW (approx. 4.5 quadrillion USD). She stated that she suffered significant financial and psychological damage, insisting that the case constitutes clear criminal misconduct. The complaint was reportedly filed on October 19.
Park Bom, a former member of 2NE1, had been participating in reunion tours with her groupmates. However, she is currently on hiatus due to mental health concerns.
D-Nation Entertainment previously announced in August that Park Bom would not be joining future 2NE1 activities, explaining, “After receiving medical advice recommending sufficient rest and stability, we made the difficult decision, following deep discussions, that she would not participate in upcoming schedules.”
