10CM and SORAN are set to release their April Fools’ project single 'Change: Tonight I'm Afraid of the First Date' on April 2 at noon KST through various online music platforms.
The album features a unique concept in which 10CM reinterprets SORAN’s “First Date,” while SORAN presents their own version of 10CM’s “Tonight I'm Afraid of the Dark.” Originally released in 2010 and 2011, the two tracks have been reimagined through each artist’s current musical sensibilities, resulting in a distinctive crossover that highlights their individual styles and interpretations.
Known for their creative April Fools’ projects, 10CM and SORAN once again deliver a playful twist by swapping songs. The project offers a refreshing listening experience, blending familiarity with novelty as each artist adds a new layer of emotion and texture to the original tracks.
The promotional rollout further amplified the concept’s charm. On April 1 at midnight, both artists surprised fans by swapping their official social media profile images and descriptions, reinforcing the theme of “change.” Concept videos and visual content depicting a body swapping scenario were also released, extending the idea beyond music into a cohesive visual narrative.
During a live broadcast held on the evening of April 1, the two artists officially announced the project and teased the release with live performances. Additional live clips maintained the role reversal concept, combining musical reinterpretation with visual storytelling to enhance the immersive and humorous appeal.
The project is expected to resonate with longtime fans while offering a fresh musical experience to wider audiences. By presenting familiar songs through entirely different voices, the single not only revisits the charm of the originals but also showcases the depth and evolution of both 10CM and SORAN.
Meanwhile, 10CM continues their '2026 Asia tour To 10CM: Chapter 1' with upcoming stops in Hong Kong and Daejeon, while SORAN is set to appear at major festivals including the Hero Rock Festival and Beautiful Mint Life Festival.
