False rumors surrounding actor Lee Yi Kyung (36) have been debunked, but controversy continues as the alleged original poster has resurfaced online, attempting to justify their claims. The situation is drawing greater scrutiny as it’s revealed this is not the first time the same individual has made similar false accusations.
On October 20th KST, a user identifying themselves as the person who previously posted claims about Lee Yi Kyung uploaded a follow-up statement to an online community. The user, referred to as A, wrote:
“I did ask him once if he could give me money. I was in a tight financial situation and couldn’t ask my parents for help. But I never actually received money from him, and I never asked again.”
A went on to explain that the initial post—now deleted—was “not about money, but to warn other women because he used harsh words.” The user added, “I’m not a scammer, I’m a German citizen. I’ve been self-learning Korean for 8 years and I’m still not fluent.”
Previously, A posted a blog entry titled “Exposing the real Lee Yi Kyung”, including screenshots of alleged sexually explicit messages supposedly exchanged with the actor. Though the post was quickly taken down, parts of it spread rapidly across online communities and social media, stirring up public attention.
In response, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, issued an immediate statement declaring:
“All claims circulating online are false. We are preparing legal action.”
The agency emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating they will pursue both civil and criminal charges for defamation and the spread of false information.
What’s especially noteworthy is that this isn’t the first time this individual has made such claims.
According to the agency,
“The same person contacted us months ago with a fabricated story and demanded money in a threatening manner. After admitting the claims were false, they even sent an apology email. Now they’ve posted the same allegations again.”
With this revelation, the credibility of A’s claims has been severely undermined. Public opinion online has shifted, with comments such as:
“Didn’t this person already apologize once? Why repeat it?”
“Is this just someone overseas trying to stir up Korean public opinion?”
However, some netizens still called for transparency:
“If the accusations are false, the agency should disclose clear evidence.”
Ultimately, the issue has evolved beyond simple rumor, raising concerns over repeated false accusations from an overseas individual. With the agency preparing legal action, attention now turns to how the matter will be resolved—and whether actor Lee Yi Kyung can finally put the baseless scandal to rest.
