Broadcaster Ji Ye Eun is currently undergoing treatment for a thyroid condition.
According to an industry insider, Ji noticed abnormalities in her health while actively promoting and visited a hospital, where she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. As a result, she has temporarily halted all activities to focus on recovery.
Her agency previously stated, “Ji Ye Eun will focus on recovering her health starting in September,” and added, “We will provide full support to ensure she gets sufficient rest and treatment.”
The thyroid is a vital organ that secretes hormones necessary for metabolism, yet its symptoms are often subtle, making it difficult to detect problems early. Ji reportedly began experiencing fatigue and a drop in energy levels, which led her to seek medical attention.
The source added, “Ji Ye Eun is now recovering well through medication and rest. While her return date is not yet set, she plans to resume activities once her treatment is complete.”
Yoo Jae Suk, her co-star on 'Running Man', also addressed the matter on a recent episode, saying, “Ji Ye Eun is undergoing treatment—not due to burnout as rumored, but based on health screening results that required immediate care.”
In response to further inquiries, her agency CP Entertainment commented, “We ask for your understanding as this pertains to personal medical information and cannot be confirmed in detail.”
Ji Ye Eun first gained attention through 'SNL Korea' and has since appeared on a variety of shows including SBS’s 'Running Man', Coupang Play’s 'Office Workers', and 'Kian's Bizarre B&B', establishing herself as a rising star in Korean variety entertainment.
