Singer and musical actor Lee Changsub firmly denied recent dating rumors involving Solar of MAMAMOO during a candid appearance on SBS variety show “Dolsing Fourmen”.
Appearing alongside Choi Daniel, Solar, and KCM, Lee confessed that he had previously received Solar’s number and even treated her to Korean BBQ, raising eyebrows among the show’s regular cast. When a video showing their friendly physical interaction was played, the cast reacted with playful suspicion, teasing, “Aren’t they too close?” and “Why so much shoulder touching?”
Lee clarified that his concern stemmed from Solar’s debut in the musical Mata Hari. “It was her first time on a musical stage, and as someone in the same field, I knew how nerve-racking that could be,” he explained. Referring to her by her real name “Yongseon,” he added that she had undergone four months of dieting for the role.
When comedian Kim Jun Ho challenged them to “curse at each other like real friends,” Lee hesitated, admitting he’s never heard Solar curse. And when asked about each other’s birthdays, both sheepishly admitted ignorance. Choi Daniel joked, “Do real friends not even celebrate birthdays?” while KCM quipped, “I can tell just by looking—they’re both acting.”
When asked whether there were any romantic feelings at all during their musical, Lee was quick to deny it. He recalled a particular 'Amazing Saturday' appearance to promote Mata Hari, where Solar bluntly stated that kissing him was “gross.”
He added with a laugh, “Even when we performed the kiss scene, it didn’t feel romantic—it felt like two chunks of meat bumping into each other.”
The moment sparked laughter across the studio, reinforcing Lee’s claim that the two are just close colleagues with no romantic involvement.
