Annie, a rising member of the rookie co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT, has been officially named as one of the MCs for MBC’s '2025 Gayo Daejejeon', the network’s year-end music festival.
An MBC-TV representative confirmed the news on October 21, stating, “Annie will serve as this year’s host for Gayo Daejejeon.” She will lead the show alongside SHINee’s Minho and Hwang Min Hyun, taking the baton from Girls’ Generation’s YoonA, who helmed the event for the past ten consecutive years.
Annie’s appointment marks a generational shift for the prestigious music special, and her inclusion has drawn significant attention. Known for her elite background — Annie is the granddaughter of Shinsegae Group matriarch Lee Myung Hee and daughter of current Shinsegae president Jung Yoo Kyung — she made her official debut in June 2025 as a member of ALLDAY PROJECT.
Despite being a newcomer, Annie’s impact on the music scene has been immediate and formidable. The group’s dual title tracks “FAMOUS” and “WICKED” quickly dominated Korean music charts, with "FAMOUS" achieving a perfect all-kill within just seven days of release. The track also debuted on Billboard’s Global 200, a rare feat for a debut group.
Her selection as MC — following in the footsteps of a seasoned entertainer like YoonA — signals both her rapid rise in the industry and MBC’s intent to refresh the show’s image with new energy.
The 2025 MBC Gayo Daejejeon is scheduled to air live on December 31, capping off a transformative year in K-pop with some of its brightest rising and veteran stars.
