A former cast member of the reality shows 'I’m Solo' and 'I am Solo, Love Forever' has been handed a suspended prison sentence for sexually assaulting a woman.
On September 19, the Seoul Western District Court, Criminal Division 11, presided over by Chief Judge Kim Woo Hyun, sentenced Park (35) to 1 year and 6 months in prison, suspended for 3 years. In addition, he was ordered to complete 40 hours of sexual violence treatment courses and was banned from working at institutions for children, adolescents, and people with disabilities for five years.
Park was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in a parking lot in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, at around 3:30 a.m. on June 21.
Chief Judge Kim stated, “Despite the victim showing clear signs of refusal, including pushing him away while intoxicated, Park proceeded with the assault. The victim suffered significant psychological trauma and sustained injuries while resisting.”
However, the judge also noted mitigating factors: “Park admitted to the crime and has shown remorse. The victim has expressed a desire not to pursue punishment, and Park has spent three months in detention, which may have provided an opportunity for reflection.”
Park gained public attention through his appearances on ENA and SBS Plus reality programs 'I’m Solo' and 'I am Solo, Love Forever.'
