RESCENE has issued an official statement in response to allegations of mistreatment that emerged following a member’s recent live broadcast.
The controversy began when RESCENE member May’s live stream was interrupted by unexpected background noise. Online communities quickly speculated that the sounds, which included voices of a man and a woman seemingly shouting, could indicate possible abuse by the group’s management.
During the live stream, May responded casually, noting, “RESCENE is in the next room… maybe they’re just playing,” a comment that led some viewers to further speculate about the situation.
On September 16, May addressed the issue directly via the fan communication platform Bubble. She stated, “There seems to be widespread misunderstanding regarding the incident, and I want to clarify. Our relationship with the company is equal and based on trust. The CEO, directors, and staff care for RESCENE deeply, and we fully trust and work together with them.”
May explained the origin of the noise, saying, “The sounds heard during the broadcast were from outside the building. We can often hear street noise, which initially led us to think it might be the members. This is a completely baseless matter, but I felt it necessary to clarify.”
RESCENE’s agency, THE MUZE ENTERTAINMENT, also released an official statement condemning the rumors. The company said, “Groundless rumors and malicious slander regarding RESCENE’s live broadcasts and entertainment activities have been circulating. Despite repeated clarifications that these claims are false, speculation continues to spread. Legal action will be taken against the dissemination of false information without leniency.”
RESCENE, a five-member girl group, debuted in March last year with their first single album, 'Re:Scene,' marking their official entry into the K-pop industry.
