i-dle’s Yuqi is returning as a solo artist with her brand-new digital single ‘Motivation’, set to drop on September 16 at 6 PM KST.
On September 2, CUBE Entertainment unveiled a colorful promotion scheduler for ‘Motivation’ via i-dle’s official social media channels. Designed like a retro street flyer, the scheduler features playful 90s-inspired hip-hop characters and a bunny symbolizing Yuqi. It poses the intriguing question: “What’s your motivation?”, sparking curiosity among fans.
The promotional rollout begins on September 3 with a photobook preview, followed by a tracklist reveal, intro film, special video, concept images, and a music video teaser — all leading up to the official release. The campaign is set to captivate global fans with its bold, nostalgic concept and energetic visual style.
Even before any teaser content was released, news of Yuqi’s solo comeback already made waves in Greater China. The announcement quickly soared to the top of Weibo’s trending keywords, proving her strong solo brand power in the region.
Yuqi’s solo success has been remarkable. Her first solo mini-album ‘YUQ1’ achieved half-million-seller status, and she was honored with the Digital EP of the Year (China) award at the 2025 Tencent Music Entertainment Awards (TMEA).
In March, her digital single ‘Radio (Dum-Dum)’ earned Platinum certification on QQ Music, further cementing her popularity. She also made her mark as a producer, featuring on and producing ‘Fly Freely (Feat. YUQI)’ for her labelmates NOWZ.
With ‘Motivation’, Yuqi is set to showcase her unique flair once again as both a performer and creative force.
