Chun Woo Hee explores duality and longing in Marie Claire Korea’s September issue.
Actress Chun Woo Hee graces the pages of Marie Claire Korea’s September issue, unveiling a striking new photoshoot and a candid interview under the theme “Whithersoever.”
The pictorial captures the ever-expanding scope of Chun’s career and identity. In one set of images, she exudes fierce charisma in black knee-high boots and glossy textures, while monochrome shots highlight her effortless and understated charm. Close-up cuts focus on her radiant skin and deep, expressive eyes, reinforcing her quiet but commanding presence.
In the accompanying interview, Chun reflected on her evolution in front of the camera:
“With experience, I’ve learned which angles bring out strengths or weaknesses, but I try not to consciously avoid certain sides of my face. I prefer to explore freely within the given frame.”
She continued,
“The public often sees both strength and fragility in me — I believe both exist within, and as an actress, that duality is a strength.”
Regarding her upcoming drama 'My Youth', which premieres on Friday, September 5, Chun shared,
“There are many emotions in love, but in this drama, longing is the most resonant. I did have some hesitation about taking on a romance again, but I hope this work brings me closer to the audience.”
Chun has previously showcased her flair for romantic comedy in Be Melodramatic and emotional depth in Not a Hero, making My Youth a highly anticipated return to melodrama, marked by her distinct tone and layered performance.
