On the July 3rd episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show 'Problem Child in House,' Super Junior members Shindong and Kyuhyun appeared as guests, sharing personal stories that captured viewers’ attention.
According to the program, Shindong revealed that he once lost an extreme 37 kilograms over six months through a rigorous diet regimen. At the time, he consumed mainly brown rice wraps (ssambap) and endured a strict eating plan that helped him reduce his weight from 116kg to 79kg.
However, Shindong confessed that after deviating from the diet and indulging in other foods, he experienced a yo-yo effect and regained weight. Additionally, he disclosed that he had been prescribed the appetite suppressant injection Wegovy at a hospital but did not see significant results. He humorously shared that even when the dosage was increased, his appetite did not decrease, prompting his doctor to comment, “Shindong, your body has beaten Wegovy.”
The episode also warmed hearts as Shindong expressed deep affection for his fellow Super Junior members, with whom he has spent 20 years. Particularly touching was his message to Kyuhyun, who was once in a coma following a car accident in 2007. Shindong told Kyuhyun, “I’m just grateful that you’re alive,” showing a heartfelt bond with the youngest member of the group.
'Problem Child in House' will air on July 3rd at 8:30 PM KST on KBS 2TV.
