Actor Lee Dong Gun’s recently opened café in Aewol, Jeju Island, has encountered unexpected challenges as heavy rainfall caused parts of the café to flood. A video shared on July 19 through the café’s official social media account captured the scene.

The footage shows the café’s oasis-themed water feature with significantly raised water levels. A couple visiting the café was seen cautiously walking along a safe path, while strong winds caused the trees around the area to shake violently. One customer was heard saying, “Is this really supposed to happen?”
Lee Dong Gun opened the café in Aewol this past April. From its first day, it received significant attention, with customers waiting in line to visit. However, it also sparked controversy when nearby business owners complained about late-night construction and filming. They claimed these activities were carried out without prior notice or agreement, leading to tension in the neighborhood.
In May, rumors emerged about Lee Dong Gun’s relationship with actress Kang Hye Rim, who is 16 years younger than him. Her agency, AND MARQ, responded by saying, “We cannot confirm matters regarding the actress’s private life.”
Despite these challenges, the café remains a popular destination, known for its unique design and high-profile owner.
