On May 16, a lifestyle service platform announced that actor Won Bin has been selected as its new exclusive brand model.
In the newly released advertisement, Won Bin exudes timeless charisma, dressed in a sleek black suit that perfectly highlights his sculpted looks and unmatched elegance. The brand explained its choice by saying that his luxurious and trustworthy image aligns perfectly with the brand’s direction.
However, once again, Won Bin’s return is through a commercial and not a new acting project.
Once a cultural icon in the early 2000s, starring in both dramas and films, Won Bin has been absent from the acting scene since his last film, 'The Man from Nowhere' in 2010. For the past 15 years, he has rarely appeared in public and has only communicated with fans through advertisements.
Recently, he was spotted at the funeral of actress Kim Sae Ron, his former co-star in 'The Man from Nowhere,' which drew media attention and concern among fans.
The most direct update regarding his potential comeback came through his wife, actress Lee Na Young. In an interview, she shared that he has been reading scripts diligently and asked fans to please wait just a little longer, giving them a glimmer of hope.
Despite the anticipation, the latest update on Won Bin once again came in the form of a commercial and not a drama or film.
Fashion designer Ji Chun Hee, who appeared on a recent episode of KBS2’s 'Boss in the Mirror,' also commented on the couple’s current state by saying that as much as Lee Na Young has become more beautiful, Won Bin has become even more handsome, drawing renewed attention to the famously private couple.
While Won Bin continues to thrive in advertising, fans are still holding out hope. The question remains whether “just a little longer” will eventually lead to a long-awaited return to the screen.
