Doyoung of NCT offers a heartfelt message of healing through the track ‘Still’, included on his upcoming second solo album ‘Soar’, set for release on June 9.
A moody pop-rock track, ‘Still’ blends delicate piano melodies with rich string layers and modern band elements to evoke a sense of quiet introspection. The lyrics tell the story of those navigating between dreams and reality, ultimately arriving at a place of calm and self-discovery.
Adding weight to the message, renowned rock musician Yoon Do Hyun wrote and composed the song himself. Doyoung’s emotive vocal performance gives the track added depth, resonating with listeners trying to stay grounded amid uncertainty.
The creative process behind the collaboration was shared through a behind-the-scenes clip titled ‘Soar Diary – page. 1’, released on May 24 via NCT’s official YouTube channel. In the video, the two artists are seen exchanging ideas in the studio, along with interviews that reveal the personal meaning behind the song.
Yoon Do Hyun explained, “I wrote ‘Still’ at a time when I desperately wanted peace but was going through internal struggles. Music gave me strength, and I thought Doyoung’s voice would be the perfect match for this song.”
He continued, “He captured the sense of solitude beautifully. Watching him work, I believe he has the potential for a long-lasting career. He’s already a complete artist, and I look forward to what he does next.”
‘Soar’ will feature ten tracks, including the title song ‘Memory (Hello, Space)’. Through the album, Doyoung hopes to share the same emotional strength he once gained from music—offering a source of comfort and inspiration to others.
