The upcoming horror film 'Ghost Train' is set to terrify audiences this summer, with its theatrical release confirmed for July 2. Distributor NEW and production company Making A Print have also revealed two chilling teaser posters that offer a glimpse into the eerie world of the film.
Directed by Tak Se Woong, 'Ghost Train' follows the story of Da Kyung, a horror YouTuber desperate for views. Played by Joo Hyun Young, Da Kyung investigates the mystery surrounding a series of unexplained disappearances linked to Gwangrim Station. Her pursuit of the truth leads her into a terrifying series of events that uncover the dark secrets of the station.
The first teaser poster shows a dark, empty subway car in an isolated underground space, evoking a cold and unsettling atmosphere. A woman stands alone at the center, her identity unclear, generating a strong sense of fear. The ominous red text reading “The train is departing” builds anticipation and raises questions about the horror that will unfold once the train begins its journey.
The second teaser poster takes a different approach. Set inside a crowded subway station, it features Da Kyung surrounded by people. Her intense gaze directed at the viewer creates a disturbing sense of unease. Among the crowd, a mysterious woman stares directly at Da Kyung with a ghostly appearance and a face wrapped in bandages, intensifying the eerie tone. The caption “Most disappearances, highest views, the first reveal of the Gwangrim Station legend” hints at Da Kyung’s role as a YouTuber and introduces the film’s unique premise.
'Ghost Train' has already attracted attention with the casting of Joo Hyun Young, known for her performances in 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' (2022), 'Behind Every Star' (2022), 'The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract' (2023), and the upcoming 'Ms. Incognito.' In this film, she takes on the central role of Da Kyung, a content creator who becomes entangled in a horrifying mystery while covering Gwangrim Station.
The film also features Jeon Bae Soo, a seasoned actor known for his emotionally layered performances, and Choi Bomin, a member of Golden Child who has expanded his acting career with roles in 'A-TEEN 2' and '18 Again.'
With a premise rooted in everyday fears and the modern obsession with online fame, 'Ghost Train' promises a gripping horror experience that reveals the terrifying cost of chasing viral success.
