On May 23, a new video titled “We Danced on a Chartered Plane” was uploaded to actress Lee Da Hae’s YouTube channel 1+1=Lee Da Hae, showcasing her awe-inspiring experience flying on a private jet to Korea courtesy of a Chinese influencer.
In the video, Lee expressed her excitement, saying, "For the first time in my life, I’m flying to Korea on a private jet." She went on to share her astonishment at the immense scale of China’s influencer industry. "I finally felt with my own skin what I had only heard about before." She specifically mentioned a top Chinese influencer named Dandan, who has an astonishing 110 million followers. "We’ve crossed paths before, filmed some videos, and had meals together. She’s now planning a live broadcast in Korea with a sales goal of 400 billion KRW (approximately $292 million)," Lee explained.
According to Lee, Dandan urgently contacted her and invited her to join the live show as a guest. "She sounded desperate, and I really wanted to help since this collaboration could also be a great opportunity for me," Lee said. "But both Korean Air and Asiana had no flights available. I even looked into China Southern and China Eastern, but I couldn’t bring my dog, Grayton, on board with them."
What happened next left Lee speechless. "Dandan offered to send a private jet for me. It was unbelievable." Dandan reportedly spent 70 million KRW (approximately $51,100) to charter the plane just to have Lee appear on the live stream. Even the production crew was astonished. "She was that determined to have me there," Lee remarked. "But all I had to do was appear for 30 minutes."
Upon arriving at the airfield, Lee received a warm welcome complete with a bouquet of flowers. Once on board, she was visibly impressed by the jet’s luxurious interior. "I tried not to act too impressed, but this is just amazing," she said with a smile.
While enjoying wine and steak during the short flight, she commented, "The flight is too short. Dandan is younger than me, but I feel like I should call her sister, out of respect. I’ll do my best tomorrow."
The next day, Lee appeared on the livestream for just 30 minutes. Her appearance helped generate a staggering 20 billion KRW (approximately $14.6 million), in sales. Broadcast staff jokingly said she should change her name to "Lee 20 billion" in honor of the achievement.
