Following his latest confession to being involved in three DUI offenses, chef Lim Sung Geun from the hit Netflix series 'Culinary Class Wars' season 2 has been accused of workplace abuse.
Following Lim’s recent confession about his past drunk driving offenses, one netizen posted a provocative comment alleging that his issues went beyond DUI. The comment claimed, “It’s not just drinking and driving. There are still many things waiting to explode—alcohol, women, and abusing business partners. Everyone in the food industry knows this.”
The commenter further alleged that Lim, after gaining some fame, exploited his reputation to act as though small food manufacturers were his own factories, adding, “Even though he calls himself a quasi-celebrity and says he’s being careful, this is what he’s like. I know him as someone with poor character and a truly malicious personality.”
On January 19, a representative for Lim told Xportsnews regarding a series of exposé-style comments circulating online, and stated, “They are not true. These claims are entirely groundless.” Lim’s side reiterated that the allegations are false, emphasizing that they are baseless rumors and stating that the clarification was intended to prevent any misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, Lim Sung Geun recently gained widespread popularity after appearing as a “White Spoon” contestant on Netflix’s cooking competition series 'Culinary Class Wars' Season 2, which has since concluded. He also appeared on tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block' and had completed filming for MBC’s 'Point of Omniscient Interfere.'
However, on January 18, Lim Sung Geun unexpectedly revealed via his YouTube channel that he had been caught driving under the influence three times over 10 years. He explained, “I wanted to hide it, but if it came out later, it would hurt many people,” sharing the reason behind his decision to come forward.
In a handwritten apology, Lim apologized and stated, “Drunk driving is entirely my fault and a mistake that cannot be justified for any reason.”
Following his confession, his scheduled filming for KBS2’s 'Fun-Staurant' was canceled, and his appearance on MBC’s 'Hangout with Yoo' remains uncertain.
