Former SISTAR member Dasom is set to return to the small screen with a romantic comedy, marking another milestone in her 17th year since debut.
Channel A’s new weekend drama 'Positively Yours,' starring Dasom, is based on the popular web novel and webtoon of the same name. The series tells the story of two people who had sworn off marriage, only to find their lives upended after a one-night encounter sparks an unexpected, reverse-trajectory romance.
Born in 1992 and debuting in 2010, Dasom takes on the role of Hwang Mi Ran, a hotel manager at Taehan Hotel and the best friend of Jang Hui Won (played by Oh Yeon Seo). Known for her straightforward, “bulldozer-like” charm, Hwang Mi Ran is expected to add lively energy to the story. Anticipation has also been building since the highlight video released on January 12, which teased a subtle and intriguing dynamic between Mi Ran and her longtime male friend Lee Min Wook (Hong Jong Hyun), raising curiosity about the relationships and narrative arcs Dasom will portray.
Adding to the buzz, behind-the-scenes photos from Dasom’s 'Positively Yours' poster shoot have been unveiled. In the newly released images, she perfectly embodies the essence of a romantic comedy, striking expressive poses and wearing a radiant, sun-like smile. From playful winks to fresh, lovable expressions, Dasom showcases a bright and charming side that draws the eye.
Dasom has steadily built her acting credentials through diverse projects, including tvN’s 'Serendipity’s Embrace,' MBC’s 'Kokdu: Season of Deity,' and ENA’s 'Salon de Holmes.' Across genres, she has been praised for her stable performances and strong character immersion, solidifying her presence as an actress with her own distinct color. Expectations are high for what new appeal she will bring in 'Positively Yours.'
Starring Dasom alongside Choi Jin Hyuk, Oh Yeon Seo, and Hong Jong Hyun, 'Positively Yours' will premiere on January 17 at 10:30 p.m. on Channel A.
