Singer and actor Park Yoo Chun has shared his thoughts following the conclusion of a long-running legal dispute with his former agency.
Park Yoo Chun recently wrote on his social media, “This moment feels incredibly precious, and I never want to lose it again—people or time.”
Earlier, management company Loudfun Together (formerly Havefun Together) withdrew its damages lawsuit against Park Yoo Chun and his former agency, Re Cielo Co., Ltd., on the 8th. Park’s side, which had filed a countersuit, also dropped its claim, effectively nullifying the obligation to pay 500 million KRW along with accrued interest as ordered in the appellate ruling.
In September last year, the first trial ruled that Park Yoo Chun and Re Cielo were jointly liable to pay 500 million KRW (approx. 339,451 USD) plus late interest to Loudfun Together. The appellate court upheld that decision, but the financial obligation was lifted following the mutual withdrawal of lawsuits.
Park Yoo Chun debuted in 2003 as a member of TVXQ. In 2009, he filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to confirm the invalidity of his exclusive contract and subsequently left the group. Beginning the following year, he promoted as part of JYJ alongside Kim Jae Joong and Kim Jun Su.
In 2016, Park became embroiled in a sexual misconduct controversy. In 2018, he was arrested on charges of methamphetamine use and, the following year, was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years.
