Lee Hyori and her husband Lee Sang Soon are mourning the loss of their beloved dog Guana, who had been part of their family for 15 long years.
On January 16, Lee Sang Soon shared the heartbreaking news on his Instagram, officially announcing that Guana, who first came into their lives in 2011 and had stayed faithfully by their side ever since, had passed away.
Along with the announcement, he posted several photos of Guana as a tribute. The images captured memories spanning the past 15 years, from Guana’s puppy days to joyful moments on walks with the couple, as well as touching scenes of Guana lying weak yet locking eyes tenderly with Lee Hyori.
Lee Hyori previously moved viewers when she spoke candidly about life with her dogs during her appearance on tvN’s variety show 'You Quiz on the Block' in 2025. At the time, she revealed that Guana was no longer able to walk and that they were slowly preparing for a farewell, bringing many viewers to tears.
Guana had long been a familiar presence, frequently appearing in the couple’s television appearances and on their social media, becoming a beloved figure to fans.
Following the sad news, friends and fans have been offering their condolences. Many left messages hoping that Guana would reunite with their late dog, Soonshim, across the Rainbow Bridge and play happily together, while also wishing Guana a peaceful, pain-free rest in “dog heaven.”
