It has been additionally confirmed that the late actress Kim Sae Ron was in a relationship with a well-known idol member around 2018. While the bereaved family previously claimed that Kim dated actor Kim Soo Hyun from 2015 to 2021, questions have now emerged due to the timeline overlapping with her relationship with another man.

According to reports on May 21st KST, Kim Sae Ron was romantically involved with idol member A, who is older than her, around 2018.

The two reportedly broke up briefly in early 2019, but reunited in early to mid-2022—around the time Kim Sae Ron was facing public backlash due to her drunk driving incident. It is also reported that A lent her a large sum of money during this period, when she was said to be struggling financially.

Kim is said to have openly introduced A as her boyfriend to acquaintances, not attempting to keep the relationship secret. Though they officially broke up in early 2023, they were still in contact as recently as last year.

An entertainment industry insider stated, “Even after their breakup, Kim Sae Ron and A remained friends. The point of revealing their past relationship is solely to clarify the timeline concerning Kim Soo Hyun, and we hope people refrain from excessive digging into A’s personal information.”

Meanwhile, some speculated that Kim’s ex-boyfriend was a member of a famous 7-member idol group, but this has been confirmed to be false.
