Webtoon artist and broadcaster Kian84 left viewers stunned after a scene showing him shaving with a rusty razor aired.
On the May 18th KST episode of MBC’s ‘Adventure by Accident 4’, Kian84 traveled to Pokhara, Nepal, with fellow cast members Lee Si Eon, Dex, and Pani Bottle. Due to a flight delay, the group arrived late at night, and Kian84 hurriedly bought a rusty razor from a nearby convenience store, then attempted to shave without water on the street.
Without a mirror and using only his hands, Kian84 joked, “Is my skin going to rot?” while beginning to shave. However, the other members were visibly horrified. Pani Bottle asked in alarm, “Aren’t you going to get tetanus?” while Dex was too shocked to respond. Lee Si Eon, seemingly used to Kian84’s eccentric habits, chuckled, “He’s always like this, it’s not on purpose.”
However, using an unmaintained or rusty razor like Kian84’s can lead to serious skin problems including acne, folliculitis, and even infections. Experts strongly advise rinsing razors thoroughly after use, drying them completely, and storing them in a well-ventilated area. For safe shaving, it’s recommended to wash the face with warm water beforehand to soften hair and open pores, then soothe the skin with cold water and apply moisturizer afterward to minimize damage.
Despite the risk, Kian84 smiled with satisfaction after shaving, saying, “I look clean now.” Experts, however, warned that rusty razors can be breeding grounds for bacteria and pose a significant threat to skin health.
