On May 27, JTBC announced that starting this July, it will launch a new weekly programming block titled “Friday Series,” airing every Friday at 8:50 PM KST. With this addition to its existing Saturday-Sunday dramas, JTBC is shifting into a “double weekend drama lineup,” aiming to dominate viewer ratings and buzz from Friday evening through Sunday night.
Kicking off the “Friday Series” will be 'The Good Man,' starring Lee Dong Wook and Lee Sung Kyung. Lee Dong Wook plays Park Seok Cheol, the eldest grandson of a third-generation gangster family, who has a surprisingly pure heart. The drama will follow his emotional noir romance with his first love, Kang Mi Young (played by Lee Sung Kyung), who dreams of becoming a singer.
Following that will be 'My Youth,' starring Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee. Song Joong Ki takes on the unique role of a florist, while Chun Woo Hee continues to showcase her depth as an actress. The two will weave a delicately emotional story together.
The third installment in the series will be 'Love Me,' marking Seo Hyun Jin’s return to television. A melodrama that tenderly captures the psychological dynamics of an ordinary family, it is expected to highlight Seo’s signature immersive performance.

JTBC’s existing weekend drama lineup also remains strong. After the well-received series 'The Tale of Lady Ok,' 'The Art of Negotiation,' and 'Heavenly Ever After' earlier this year, this weekend will see the premiere of 'Good Boy,' starring Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun. A youth-centered crime investigation drama infused with comedy and action, the show has already generated high expectations.
The second half of 2025 will feature an even more star-studded lineup. Upcoming titles include: 'Esquire,' a courtroom psychological drama starring Lee Jin Wook and Jung Chae Yeon; 'Hundred Memories,' a romantic triangle drama about 1980s bus attendants; 'The Story of Mr. Kim,' a heartfelt human drama starring Ryu Seung Ryong; and 'Waiting for Gyeong-Do,' a stylish and sophisticated drama starring Park Seo Joon
JTBC continues its upward trend, reporting a 56% increase in drama ratings in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year. With major hits like 'The World of the Married,' 'Reborn Rich,' and 'Doctor Cha,' JTBC aims to solidify its status as a “drama powerhouse” through the launch of the Friday Series.
JTBC also topped the audience evaluation index by the Korea Information Society Development Institute (under the Korea Communications Commission) for the 11th consecutive year, receiving the highest scores across all categories, including entertainment value, creativity, and diversity, underscoring the strength of its varied content.
Declaring its intention to fully dominate prime weekend TV slots, JTBC emphasized its commitment to experimenting across genres and continuing to deliver engaging new content, so viewers can enjoy a weekend packed with satisfying dramas.
According to JTBC, the “Friday Series” will air two back-to-back episodes every Friday at 8:50 PM starting in the second half of the year. Saturday-Sunday dramas will continue airing Saturdays at 10:40 PM and Sundays at 10:30 PM.
