On May 6th KST, actress Jeon Se Hyun publicly expressed her anger over receiving a “sponsorship” offer via social media.
She shared a screenshot of a direct message (DM) along with the caption, “If you know it’s inappropriate, then don’t do it. If it happens again, I’ll report it. What do you take me for? Do you think I’m a joke?”
The message read: “I apologize in advance for being disrespectful. I will reveal my identity if we meet. I’d like to date twice a month while respecting each other’s privacy.” It continued, “In return, I will provide financial support. Payment will be made in advance, and I can offer up to 50 million KRW(~36,000 USD). If you’re interested, please DM me for more details. If this was offensive, I apologize.”
In response, Jeon Se Hyun expressed strong disapproval, saying, “What do you take me for? Am I some kind of joke?” She joined a growing number of celebrities who have called out such offensive proposals.
Other celebrities, including former Jewelry member Jo Min Ah, actress Jang Mi In Ae, and model Goo Ji Sung, have also revealed receiving similar messages. They responded with strong rebukes like “Get lost,” “Not worth replying to,” and “Send another message like that and you’ll end up in jail.”
