As many of you know, girl group GFRIEND recently disbanded as the girls left the label and none of the members decided to renew their contracts. Many fans and netizens were shocked as the girl group’s company Source Music, was acquired by HYBE Labels (formerly Bighit Entertainment) in July 2019 and had a successful comeback with “MAGO” in November 2020. 

Here are some of my favorite and IMO the girl’s most memorable moments in honor of the legendary girl group. 

1. Debut 

The girls debuted on January 15th, 2015, with their first mini-album, “Season of Glass,” along with the title track “Glass Bead.” This song is STILL a bop to this day. According to YouTube, the "Glass Bead"  M/V ranked #9 in the top 10 "Most Viewed K-Pop Videos Around the World in January 2015".

2. 2x Faster Dance on “Weekly Idol”

The first time I watched this, I was SHOCKED. The girls did so well during this, and I cannot imagine how tired they were after this. Their choreographies are already known to be really intricate, and doing them 2x faster just seems impossible. These are also three of their best songs. 

3. Yuju’s Slippery Stage 

On September 5th, 2015, GFRIEND performed at the 2015 Hyundai Eco Drive concert, and it became pretty memorable for a not-so-sweet reason. Yuju fell a total of six times while performing as the stage was very slippery and wet. She later appears on TV with member Yerin that the viral performance actually helped bring the group a lot of attention. In fact, this clip was actually how I got into GFRIEND, lol.

4. GFRIEND's First-Ever Win

On February 2, 2016, the girls got their first-ever win on 'The Show.' Look at how happy they were... this was the first of many music show wins to come.

5. Love Whisper Choreography and Stage 

In 2017, the girls released their 5th mini-album, “< PARALLEL  >” with the title track “LOVE WHISPER.” The song gained attention for its difficult dance and their performance on August 2nd, 2017, when they appeared on “Show Champion” and member Yuju’s leg was bleeding during the performance. She later stated she wasn’t sure why it started.
