'Produce 48' sees a drop in viewer ratings

The viewer ratings for Mnet's 'Produce 48' has dropped. 

According to rating numbers by Nielsen Korea, the 5th episode aired on July 13 recorded 2.5% in viewer ratings. This is a 0.3% decrease from the 4th episode, which recorded the show's best viewer ratings so far with 2.8%.


The viewer ratings for the 5th episode is especially disappointing considering how the show had its very first ranking announcements. In the previous season - 'Produce 101' with the male trainees - the first ranking announcements went viral and the viewer ratings reached over 3%. 

Many netizens are blaming the editing for the drop in viewer ratings. It's claimed the storyline and outcome are easily guessable. In addition, the show airs in the late nights for over two hours. Viewers are starting to claim the show is boring and tiring to watch.
