In a statement to News 1, a rep from Mnet responded in strong denial and said, "The rumors stating that we're not letting trainees film ads or have interviews if they didn't make it in the top 20 are completely false. Those conditions were not listed in the contract and we have never recommended it. The only thing we've asked is for them to participate in the concert."

The rep continued, "There might be a guideline for the 11 debut members but we know it's not right to have regulations for the trainees who didn't debut. We have never set such rules."

Meanwhile, 'Produce 101' season 2 concert with Wanna One and other trainees in the top 35 will be taking place on July 1-2 at Olympic Hall of Olympic Park.

really? because I heard from a pretty reputable source that trainees who didn't make it into the Top 11 weren't allowed by contract to film any CFs for three months following the show

Trainees have been interviewed after 101. Stupid ass rumours.

I'm not the one to believe in mnet, but i saw a lot of interviews from trainees who didn't make the top 20, like Hwawoong, sungwoo, moonbok, Hyunbin and some others. I think Taehyun also got interviewed.

the first time i'm on Mnet side. well its totally a nonsense rumour, whats the point they join the show if they are not allowed to film ads or having interviews. im sure their agencies also not that stupid to allow their trainees join the show without gain anything. Even some of the trainees whom only make it until top 35 or top 60 are doing well now.

Well, that's a stupid rumor. The whole point of joining the show was to get those opportunities after it was over. No agency in their right mind would have agreed to that.

The End
