On August 12th, actor Ahn Bo Hyun appeared on JTBC’s variety show 'One Meal Show' where he shared memories of his past, including a difficult experience of having to move because of urban redevelopment.
In the episode, Ahn Bo Hyun, who stars in the film 'Pretty Crazy,' joined hosts Kim Hee Sun and Tak Jae Hoon as they challenged themselves to share a meal with strangers in the Mangwon-dong neighborhood.
Regarding the show’s unique format of ringing doorbells at random homes to ask for a meal, Ahn Bo Hyun expressed confidence, saying, “I think ringing the bell and greeting people will be okay.” He added, “I used to work as a parcel delivery part-timer for a long time, so I have rung a lot of doorbells.”
Kim Hee Sun commented, “We have failed twice in a row, so morale is low,” to which Ahn Bo Hyun responded determinedly, “I think today will be different.”
Ahn Bo Hyun also shared his deep connection to Mangwon-dong. He said, “Mangwon-dong is a warm-hearted place. Though I am originally from Busan, I lived in Mangwon-dong for about seven years. It is the longest place I have lived since moving to Seoul.” He then revealed a bittersweet memory. “When I lived in Mangwon-dong, I envied the apartments around. During the time they were being built, I was forced to move out of my house because of redevelopment.”
He reflected, “I promised myself that someday I would live in an apartment like those.”
Later in the episode, Kim Hee Sun, Ahn Bo Hyun, Tak Jae Hoon, and chef Park Eun Young formed teams to take on the meal challenge together.
