Seventeen talked about their group name!

The boys were on 'Immortal Song' on the 4th. On the show, the MCs asked why they were named Seventeen even though they only had thirteen members. The boys explained that the member count (13) + the unit count (hip hop, vocal, performance = 3) + the group (1) added up to 17.

Did you know that this was the reason for their name?

  1. Seventeen
  2. Immortal Song

.....I found it helpful seeing as though i don't know who they are. I've seen two of the members before but thats it. Kinda of a random reason to be named that but it is unqiue

Seventeen was planned to debut with 17 members long time ago but their were so many trainees that left the company such as Punch (samuel), ming ming and kim do joon. And other trainees were added for example The8. Because I was waiting for seventeen to debut since 2012 or 2013 I'm not sure but I had their pictures on my oldest IPhone. Suddenly, they were debuted 2 days before I turned 17. I feel like I have some sort of connection with this group.

hey fun fact did u know seventeen was supposed to debut in 2012 but they were called tempest and had 5 members then moved 3 members into the trainee group seventeen(the other 2 left). and seventeen when they debut(they were only random trainees that were uncomfirmed for debut under the name of seventeen) were supposed to have sub units that promoted in 3 different countries china, korea and japan but their debut date got pushed back 2 years they ere supposed to debut their korean sub unit in 2013 but yea delayed then members left and joined and pledis became broke:) oh and their ages ranged from like 11/12- 18/19

Kinda sad how this still needs to have an article about it....they had to explain it like everytime they went on shows

Exo_Leia Sunday, February 5, 2017

I'm pretty sure they originally had 17 members, so that's an interesting way to think

17caratarohas Exo_Leia Monday, February 6, 2017

But im pretty sure that was a coincidence since members left then members joined and at different times but if u add all the trainees that trained under seventeen then yea its 17 people

Exo_Leia 17caratarohas Monday, February 6, 2017

Ahh I see

xloveseoul Sunday, February 5, 2017

I thought it was like, their average age or something

17caratarohas xloveseoul Monday, February 6, 2017

It started off like that im pretty sure back in 2012. It was their average of of when they each joined the company but then after members leaving and new members i fuess they needed a better reason otherwise people wouldve thought it was weird they call themselves seventeen since they were known by that sonce 2012

17caratarohas Monday, February 6, 2017

wait....idk anymore its possible pledis originally wanted seventeen members cuz they were supposed to be like exo with units in 3 different countries and also debut in 2012
