Entertainment agency Billions has issued a formal apology following growing backlash from fans of Kim Sung Gyu, member of boy group Infinite, who accused the company of neglecting his activities and failing to provide adequate support.
On August 24, 2025 KST, Billions posted an official statement via its social media accounts: “We have carefully reviewed each of the various opinions and feedback shared by fans. We acknowledge that there have been repeated shortcomings in our promotions, social media operations, and overall support of the artist’s activities. We take this very seriously and sincerely apologize for the disappointment we have caused.”
The company continued: “Through this incident, we will reform our operating processes and improve our methods of communication. We will strengthen support for the artist’s activities and do our utmost to protect their rights and interests.”
The apology was prompted by a fan-led declaration that condemned what they viewed as Billions’ neglect of Kim Sung Gyu’s career. Fans highlighted that posts related to him were consistently absent from the agency’s official channels, and that news of his recent musical casting was uploaded only after 82 hours. They also criticized the complete lack of official promotion for his new album, pointing out that there were no press releases, interviews, broadcast appearances, or radio schedules arranged. Even on the day of release, the album was promoted only through Kim Sung Gyu’s personal social media.
Fans argued that the agency’s reliance on the artist’s own effort amounted to intentional sidelining. They warned of protest actions, including truck demonstrations and wreath deliveries, though these were reportedly postponed after the company issued its apology.
Currently, Billions manages a number of high-profile artists, including Kim Sung Gyu, Son Hyun Joo, Choi Moo Sung, Go Chang Seok, Heo Sung Tae, Kim Ha Neul, Lee Jun Young, and Jung Eun Ji.
Statement regarding artist Kim Sung Gyu under Billions Entertainment

We demand that Billions immediately stop any deliberate neglect or actions that harm the artist. As fans supporting Kim Sung Gyu, we express deep concern over the agency’s attitude toward managing and promoting his activities.
Kim Sung Gyu has been sincerely active in musicals, festivals, broadcasts, and various projects, always giving his best. However, despite the artist’s efforts, the company’s poor support and lack of management have failed to amplify his achievements. The current situation, where the artist’s passion and effort are overly consumed without systematic backing, must be corrected. The agency must provide stable and structured support so that his work is not wasted.
Nevertheless, regarding his recent album release, the agency carried out no official promotion compared to his musical, festival, and variety activities. No press releases, interviews, broadcast appearances, radio schedules, or online content planning were arranged. Even on the day of release, no promotion was made through official channels, leaving the artist himself to inform fans through his personal social media.
Many fans see this as a serious dereliction of duty, believing the agency is intentionally downplaying his activities. Relying only on the artist’s personal diligence is unacceptable and constitutes mismanagement that obstructs his career.
The agency must strengthen management and support systems so that activities continue in a stable and systematic manner, while ensuring transparency and fairness in opportunities for the artist. Fans also demand clear communication to rebuild trust.
Furthermore, major fan-led actions such as coordinated social media campaigns and truck demonstrations have consistently been ignored, showing the company’s disregard for fans’ voices and severely damaging trust between the agency and supporters.
We therefore strongly demand the following measures:
-
Strengthening management of individual activities
-
Improving the official promotion system
-
Managing content and activating YouTube
-
Normalizing fan club and membership services (b.stage)
-
Strengthening response to malicious posts
-
Reinforcing internal management and preventing leaks
-
Respecting fan feedback and rebuilding trust
Fans’ demands are rooted in a desire for the artist’s hard work to be supported properly. We urge Billions to act responsibly, rebuild trust, and ensure that Kim Sung Gyu can pursue his activities with the full backing he deserves.
