She said about the transition from idol to an actress, "I worried about whether it was better to get rid of my image as a group member or better to take that around with me, but I realized it'd be good to show the image that works with the roles I get in the future. I think the audience will accept me better if I show the image of that role rather than my image or the group's image."
She also talked about the public's opinion of idol-turned-actors. "The attention can't be very good or very bad, I think," said Sohyun. "I think it depends on how I do. The negative criticism on idols when they act these days have greatly decreased from the past. There are also cases like Siwan. That's why I think all that's left for me is to do well with the role that I get."
Sohyun also revealed that she's liked medical dramas since she was young, so she really wants to appear in one given the chance. For example, she likes Seo Hyun Jin's character in 'Romantic Doctor.' She chose her role model as Ha Ji Won, adding her ambitions for some action roles, as well. She expressed gratitude for Yeon Jung Hoon's advice about acting as he's her senior in her new agency.
