The police gave a brief update on the DUI case against Kangin through an official statement on June 10.

According to the police, back on May 24, he drove with a blood alcohol level of 0.157%, considerably higher than the amount of 0.1% which would result in license revocation.  On that night, he had driven his car into a streetlamp after which he fled the scene then turned himself into the police hours later.

The police revealed that they've taken into consideration all of the charges against Kangin, like the DUI charge and his inaction after the incident, and sent the prosecution their findings as well as a recommendation of indictment.

The case has now been forwarded to prosecution.

i have seen super junior since sorry sorry and i was proud of them to see them grow and grow. However, this is not the first time that he did this. we wanted him to learn from his mistake in the past and he said it himself that this kind of thing will never happen again. but it did. if we let this slide again, this will happen again. he is our idol, we love him a lot, but he's also an adult. he just has an extraordinary job that has fans supporting him. being an idol and celebrity does not change the fact that he is an adult, and since this is not the first time it has happened, he needs to get punished for his action and take full responsibility for it. it would break my heart if he does leave, but what he has done is not just a mistake. it could've been a person instead of a streety lamp. he needs to get consequences for his actions. he wont always have his fans supporting him and getting everything the way he wants it to be.. i bet someone will tell me that im not a true fan or whatever but im saying this as a person to person. idk.. i will be so sad if he leaves, but he did drunk drive and he needs to take responsibility for it.

Ioan_ELF Jeonghae_Won Monday, June 13, 2016

and leaving super junior is the way to learn his mistake? then i believe he will get depressed and drink even more. why should we want to make a person desperate for his mistake. yes he is a celebrity and he should be punished as all koreans do, i dont think if any non celebrity korean had a same DUI incident would be fired from his job.

LuvJiyeon Jeonghae_Won Monday, June 13, 2016

so true, its not impossible to happen for the third times

LuvJiyeon Ioan_ELF Monday, June 13, 2016

i just think suju is getting a lot of hate from Kangin's case..they dont deserved will be worst to keep him in the group

Ioan_ELF LuvJiyeon Saturday, June 18, 2016

suju have been through so many difficulties along the years, they wont get harm since their fans love them so much! we have to keep them together and not press a person at the edge for his mistake. we are not here to judge him and convinced him. he will pay by the law

Ev4 Jeonghae_Won Monday, June 20, 2016

U have said whats on my mind, getting him kicked out from Suju won't solve the problem and we r talking as Elfs who will support them. All Bout Kang in is he has to be punished. Kicking him will make his condition worst, by this time he needs some back ups to help him to be a better person...

Jeonghae_Won Ioan_ELF Monday, July 11, 2016

Yeah but u still cant giving him more chances. He promised this kind of thing would never happen again. I got really dissapointed in kangin because of this incident. I believed that he will mark his words and keep it. But he didnt. And he hit and ran. He ran away,, that is not acceptable for me. Yes theres a chance that hemight drink more but he has to contrl himself. This happened because he didnt control himself. If he does drink more like how you said and creates another incident, then he serisouly is acting like a child and not learning from his mistakes. We gave him a chance. During that time everone was like panicking i should say, about this because suju was one of the popularest artists in korea and one of them members drunk drove. The group was having a hard time and he promised he would never do that but he broke the promise. He couldve killed a person. Hes lucky it was just a street lamp, but it couldve been a person. An innocent human being. If he hit a human, then would you still protect him? Yes it was just a street lamp this time, but hes really lucky it wasnt something living. Hes over thirt, he should know how to control himself and more importantly, keep his promises. But he didnt. I feel like something else might happen again if he stays. In anyway, he commited a crime and he should get some kind of a punishment for it, other then just money

Jeonghae_Won LuvJiyeon Monday, July 11, 2016

Yes its not. You never know when accidents will happen. If he drinks more even after we force him to leave, i see it as him not learning from his mistakes AT ALL. if he drinks again, he should know that there is a possibility this whole thing could happen again. If he is letting out his depression by drinking, that is the wrong way of doing that and that will again be his fault for not looking back at what he did and learning from it.

Jeonghae_Won Ioan_ELF Monday, July 11, 2016

They wont get harm? do you not see all the antis and haters giving hate comments to them? They might seem like the arent getting harm, but inside they are also human beings and they ae gettinghurt, no matter how long it has been since you have debuted. And paying by the law isnt everything. Money will not change how he will keep the promise. Money does not changethe possibility of him drunk driving again. He miht look back at what he did and regret, but that will not change anything. Suju did go through so many difficulties but because of kangin, two big hard times they had to go through. Kangin really loves his members and care for them a lot, but then why did he not control himself from drinking, especially that theyre celebrities? Im not saying celebrities cant drink but especially when its an idol group, where you need ever single member to be a whole, you shoudnt do these kind of things like breaking the promise and commiting another, same crime.

Everlasting_frie Saturday, June 11, 2016

I am happy that he eventually turned himself in when this happy, better that he realised it after a while not ever, I dont want him out of suju tho, I might be a little dispointed in him but I am not turning on him

explosive Saturday, June 11, 2016

dun DUN!

melomelon Friday, June 10, 2016

Is 0.157% the value they measured when he turned himself in or the calculated BAC for the time of incident? If it was when he turned himself in, that means it was even higher than at the time he was driving :o

knutgardon melomelon Saturday, June 11, 2016

Probably calculated from the still present alcohol traces in the blood when he was tested. Otherwise it indicates a BAC around the double amount at the time of the incident. People can die at this level of intoxication. Their central nervous system is severely depressed and they often lose consciousness. Still 0.157 % is way over the limit. It means a mandatory felony charge raised just about everywhere and in many places a likely prison sentence as well even if the drunk driving caused no injuries or dearth.

btsbigbangikon Friday, June 10, 2016

Meepu Friday, June 10, 2016

Ioan_ELF Meepu Monday, June 13, 2016
