On August 19th, JYP Entertainment (JYPE) issued a public notice via its official social media accounts, reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance against the spread of falsehoods and malicious slander targeting its artists, including Stray Kids.

The company stated that it is actively pursuing legal action against individuals and groups responsible for defamatory content, both in Korea and internationally. Evidence was gathered through fan reports and internal monitoring, leading to the filing of recent criminal complaints.

JYPE emphasized that no leniency or settlements will be granted, promising to take strong civil and criminal measures to protect its artists’ rights. Fans were also encouraged to continue reporting malicious activities to the agency.

Below is the full statement released by JYPE:

“Notice Regarding Legal Action Against the Spread of Falsehoods and Malicious Slander Concerning Our Artists”
Hello, this is JYPE.

We would like to update you on the status of legal proceedings regarding acts that infringe upon the rights of our artists.

We have repeatedly announced our policy of taking firm action against cases that violate fundamental rights, such as personal rights, in order to protect our artists. Based on evidence gathered through fan reports and our own internal monitoring, we are currently pursuing legal action.

Recently, we have collected malicious posts and comments from domestic and international online communities and social media channels that defame and insult our artists by spreading false information and malicious slander, and we have recently filed criminal complaints. We will actively cooperate with the necessary investigations by the relevant authorities and intend to take strong civil and criminal measures.

As previously stated, there will be absolutely no leniency or settlement during this process. We will continue to monitor for any illegal activities that infringe upon our artists' personal rights and disrupt their stable activities, and we will respond strictly, including by filing additional legal complaints

If you have any evidence of such illegal acts, we ask for your active support in reporting it to us. (fan@jype.com)

Thank you.

This announcement comes as Stray Kids’ global popularity continues to rise, with increasing online attention also drawing negative commentary. JYPE’s firm response reassures fans that the company is taking steps to safeguard the group’s reputation and well-being.
