Having just released their global album, 'The Beginning', the boys of JYJ have been thrilling their fans with a mini Asian tour.
JYJ arrived in Singapore on October 16th after performing in Bangkok the day before. With a massive international fanbase, throngs of fans waited at the Singapore Changi Airport to welcome their idols. The trio attended a press conference prior to their showcase, and pleasantly answered some questions from the reporters.
<How did the collaboration with Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins (aka "Darkchild") come about?>
Junsu: 'The Beginning' was planned to be released worldwide. It was recorded in English, so Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins took part in the album. We worked very hard for the album and we hope that you will listen to it.
YooChun: Warner Bros. were trying to help us collaborate with famous artists in the U.S. like Ne-Yo, then we managed to hooked up with Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins.
<Were you surprised that Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins heard about you and welcomed the idea of working together?>
YooChun: We never thought that they would know us; we were honored to be able to work with them.
JYJ later performed a total of five songs from 'The Beginning', in addition to 'Found You' from the 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal' OST. Naturally, the trio had their fans screaming all the way through the concert, from the start to the end. YooChun wrapped up the event by assuring that JYJ will be back in Singapore next year for a concert, and told the fans to "always keep the faith".
JYJ will be heading to Malaysia for the 17th, and then onto Hong Kong for the 24th before touring in the United States.
