According to reports on March 27, Lee Sang Bo was found deceased on March 26. Police, who were alerted by his family, are currently investigating the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
Born in 1981, Lee Sang Bo made his acting debut in 2006 with the KBS2 drama 'Invisible Man,' 'Choi Jang-soo' and went on to appear in a range of television series, including 'Daughters-in-Law,' 'Cruel Love,' JTBC’s 'Private Lives,' KBS2’s 'Miss Monte-Cristo,' and 'The Elegant Empire.' He gained particular recognition for his leading roles in 'Miss Monte-Cristo' and 'The Elegant Empire,' where his steady performances and on-screen presence earned critical acclaim.
Lee Sang Bo also maintained an active presence on the big screen. He appeared in the Japanese film 'Kisarazu Cat's Eye: The Movie 2' and later starred in 'Secretly, Greatly' and 'Mephistopheles,' building a diverse portfolio across genres.
Last year, Lee Sang Bo signed an exclusive contract with his agency, signaling a fresh start in his career. He was reportedly considering new projects at the time of his passing, making the news all the more tragic.
In 2022, Lee Sang Bo faced allegations of drug use. However, the police investigation confirmed that the issue arose from a misunderstanding involving prescription medication for depression, and no evidence of illegal drug use was found. The case was officially closed with no charges filed. Despite the distressing ordeal, he remained committed to acting and returned to the screen, earning support from fans and colleagues alike.
