iKON has officially kicked off their new era with "Episode 0" of their upcoming variety show. In this teaser, the members discuss potential activities and the creative direction for what is being framed as a spiritual successor to their hit series "iKON TV."
The project, titled "Returning Student Theater" is a self-produced variety show by the four members currently active. The show aims to bridge the gap between long-time fans and new followers who have been eagerly waiting for content following the members return from mandatory military service. Fans (iKONIC) are particularly excited as this variety content arrives alongside rumors of a full musical comeback and a concert tour later this year, the group's first major activity after a two-year hiatus.
The teaser also included a humorous look into the show's chaotic planning process, specifically highlighting a "NEW Content Item Leak Incident" that occurred during their production meeting. This behind-the-scenes glimpse suggests that the group will maintain the same candid and unpredictable energy that makes iKON a unique group among so many others. To wrap up the announcement, the members confirmed that the first official episode of "Returning Student Theater" is set to premiere on March 26 at 6:00 p.m. KST.
Currently, four members have completed their military duties. However, the wait for a full six-member lineup continues: Kim Dong-hyuk (DK) is serving in the military band, while Koo Jun-hoe is expected to enlist later this year.
