Sunghoon of ENHYPEN returned after playing a notable role as a bridge between K-pop and sports.
According to his agency Belift Lab on February 10th KST, Sunghoon spent time fulfilling his duties as a promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee from February 5th to February 9th local time at the ‘2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics’, taking part in the torch relay, opening ceremony, and national team events.
Through his agency, Sunghoon shared, “I never imagined that I would stand at the Olympics again in a different role, which was my very first dream as a child. Through the torch relay and watching the competitions, I was able to recall the passion and memories I felt during my time as an athlete. It was a precious experience I will remember for a lifetime.”
On the opening day, Sunghoon successfully completed the torch relay amid huge crowds. The following day, on the 6th, he became the only Korean officially invited by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to walk the opening ceremony red carpet. He also visited the Korea House promotion hall and Samsung House, serving as a “cultural ambassador” by promoting Korea’s culture and technology.
On the 7th and 9th, he attended the figure skating team short program and the women’s 1000m speed skating final, respectively, delivering strong energy in support of Team Korea. After news of his figure skating attendance spread locally, the IOC immediately extended an invitation, and Sunghoon made a surprise appearance in a pre-event countdown segment to boost the cheering atmosphere.
The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee stated, “As a former figure skater and a K-pop artist representing the country, Sunghoon shares many similarities with Team Korea athletes. It was especially meaningful to be accompanied by such a symbolically significant ambassador. We are very grateful that he actively participated in promotional activities, including the ‘SHOUT OUT’ challenge and various Olympic-related content. We hope our athletes will perform well in this competition with his support.”
