Legendary ballad trio SeeYa is set to reunite as a full group to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut.
Members Nam Gyu Ri, Kim Yeon Ji, and Lee Bo Ram announced that they will return with a pre release song in March, a fan meeting, and a full length album scheduled for May.
The members shared that their reunion was motivated by their fans who have waited for them over the past two decades. They explained that after long discussions, they decided to reunite to express their gratitude and create meaningful music together once again.
“This reunion is not simply about revisiting the past,” the members said. “It is a new beginning as artists. Rather than following old formulas or decisions made by others, we want to present the music that truly represents SeeYa.”
Unlike their early days when they were in their twenties, the members said they now hope to tell more personal and authentic stories through their music, reflecting their experiences and matured emotions.
Although the three members are currently signed to different agencies, they revealed plans to establish a project corporation under the name SeeYa to independently manage the group’s activities.
The pre release track scheduled for March will be an emotional ballad capturing the meaning of their 20 year journey and reunion. The members also participated in writing the lyrics, delivering a heartfelt message to fans who have supported them throughout the years.
A fan meeting will also be held in Jongno District, Seoul on the day of the song’s release to celebrate the long awaited reunion with supporters.
The upcoming May album will feature renowned producers Park Geun Tae and Kim Do Hoon, who previously collaborated with SeeYa during the group’s peak years. Several tracks will also include lyrics written by the members themselves.
Since debuting in 2006, SeeYa rose to prominence with hits such as "Scent of a Woman", "Love Greeting", "Shoes", and "Crazy Love Song", establishing themselves as one of the most powerful female vocal groups in the Korean ballad scene.
The trio officially disbanded in 2011, but fans have continued to hope for a reunion. They briefly appeared together on 'Sugar Man 3' in 2020, raising expectations for a comeback that ultimately did not materialize at the time.
With their long awaited reunion now confirmed, anticipation is building for the new music and stories SeeYa will share as they mark their 20th anniversary.
