How much does it typically cost to place an advertisement in popular Korean YouTube content like 'ZIP Daesung'?
On February 14 KST, one restaurant owner revealed the amount requested by the YouTube series 'ZIP Daesung' to place an advertisement on an upcoming episode.
The information below states that the cost for an advertisement on an episode of 'ZIP Daesung' scheduled for release on April 24, featuring guests Super Junior D&E, is 55 million (~ 38,000 USD) without VAT (value-added tax). The offer also listed the advantages of advertising through 'ZIP Daesung', boasting its subscriber count of 1,400,000 and average view count of 1,100,000 per video.

An advertisement is typically featured in almost every episode of 'ZIP Daesung'. A short segment of each video is specifically dedicated to up front advertising, usually done in a comical thanks to host Daesung's exaggerations.

But do these costly advertisements actually pay off?
Many Korean netizens asked as much, also commenting,
"That's a lot steeper than I imagined.."
"I guess I underestimated the costly world of celebrities,,"
"If you pay to place an advertisement in content like this, how much can you make in return??"
"If 'ZIP Daesung' costs this much, I wonder how much it would cost for shows like (Yoo Jae Suk's) 'Pinggyego'."
"No wonder celebrities started flocking to YouTube to do these things as soon as they became a staple."
"Do people actually show interest in those kinds of up front advertisements tho??"
"I get why Daesung loves advertisement offers so much lol."
"Whoa actually for Big Bang + Suju isn't that on the cheaper side?? Celebrities easily request well over 100 million KRW (~ 70,000 USD)."
"Celebrities make money so easily."
"I'm curious to know how much it costs for 'Pinggyego'."
