A popular YouTuber with 1.2 million subscribers has been booked on charges of drunk driving following a chain collision accident.
According to TV Chosun on February 14, the Seoul Suseo Police Station is investigating a man in his 30s, identified only as A, on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).
A is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol at around 11:10 p.m. on January 23 in the parking lot of a lamb skewer restaurant in Yeoksam dong, Gangnam District, Seoul. While moving his vehicle in the restaurant’s parking lot, he reportedly collided with another car. During the process of reversing, he is also said to have crashed into a parking lot wall.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Police officers dispatched to the scene attempted to conduct a breathalyzer test, but A refused. He was later taken to a nearby hospital for a blood test, which reportedly showed a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the level that warrants license revocation.
Police plan to further investigate the exact circumstances of the accident and the amount of alcohol consumed before referring the case to prosecutors.
