Singer and musical actress Ock Joo Hyun showed an unbothered and confident attitude on social media despite ongoing controversy surrounding her performance schedule.

On the 28th, Ock Joo Hyun uploaded a short video along with several photos to her personal SNS account.
In the video, she appears wearing an orange prison style outfit and delivers a playful line with a mischievous expression, saying, “A prisoner. My crime? Being Ock Joo Hyun.” In the following clip, she shifts tone by holding her hand adorned with glamorous jewelry close to her face and tagging a sponsored brand, showing her so called promotional fairy side as well.
Her upbeat posts drew more attention as they came amid renewed discussion surrounding casting controversy for the musical ‘Anna Karenina’.
According to the previously released schedule, Ock Joo Hyun is set to perform in 25 out of a total of 38 shows. This far exceeds the number of performances by the other two actresses in the triple casting, with Lee Ji Hye appearing in 8 shows and Kim So Hyang in 7.
In response, the production team explained that the schedule was the result of multiple factors including licensing discussions and actor availability. However, some observers have expressed concern that casting related controversies reminiscent of past disputes continue to resurface.
Adding to the debate is the fact that Ock Joo Hyun’s current musical ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ significantly overlaps with the schedule for her upcoming role in ‘Anna Karenina’, further fueling discussion around her packed performance lineup.
