NCT DREAM member Jisung is set to embark on a new challenge, transitioning from idol to actor.
On January 14, it was reported that Jisung has confirmed his appearance in ENA’s drama ‘Crash’ Season 2, marking his first acting project since debuting as an idol.
‘Crash’ is Korea’s first drama centered on traffic crime investigations, which premiered in May 2024. The series follows the Traffic Crime Investigation Team (T.C.I) as they track down criminals on the road. Season 2 will see Jisung joining returning cast members Lee Min Ki, Kwak Sun Young, and Heo Sung Tae.
In the drama, Jisung plays Ji Dae Se, the youngest new recruit to the T.C.I team. With his tall frame and striking visuals, the character is nicknamed the “Idol of Traffic Police.” While highly skilled in action thanks to his training in taekwondo and hapkido, Ji Dae Se is also portrayed as a layered character carrying deep emotional scars.
Before debuting with NCT DREAM in 2016, Jisung was active as a child actor. He appeared in the drama ‘Deep Rooted Tree’ and the film ‘Unbowed’. However, ‘Crash 2’ marks his first acting role since launching his career as an idol.
‘Crash’ previously ranked third in all-time viewership ratings among ENA dramas, earning praise for its gripping storytelling and intense investigative tension despite the absence of romance. Season 2 will once again be helmed by director Park Jun Woo, who led the first season, with filming scheduled to begin next month.
